PerSpectacles Hearing provides a full range of diagnostics, including basic behavioral testing and sophisticated computerized hearing aid programming and evaluations, tinnitus evaluations for our patients range from 6-year-old to over a hundred years old.
For patients suffering with tinnitus (“ringing in the ears”) we offer several diagnostic tests and self-for assessment surveys to determine the cause of the tinnitus and its psychological impact. Tests are performed to determine if the cause of the tinnitus is related to middle ear or inner ear problems as well as possible auditory nerve abnormalities.
A Basic Hearing tests help determine what kind of hearing loss you have by measuring your ability to hear sounds that reach the inner ear through the ear canal (air-conducted sounds) and sounds transmitted through the skull (bone-conducted sounds). A hearing (audio-metric) test is part of an ear examination that evaluates a person's ability to hear by measuring the ability of sound to reach the brain.
